Your first steps on the ground: Buy a Portuguese prepaid SIM card · Check your visa vignette says temporary stay — you do NOT need an AIMA residence permit · Keep your health and travel insurance valid for your whole authorised stay · Check the work limits your country's agreement sets — they are not the same for everyone · Obtain your NIF (tax number) at Finanças · Secure a registered long-term lease.
