Your first steps on the ground: Book your INM appointment online immediately on arrival · Pay the INM canje fee and bring the receipt to your appointment · Exchange your entry visa for a Tarjeta de Residente Temporal at INM (within 30 days) · Buy a local SIM card (Telcel, AT&T, or Movistar) · Secure temporary accommodation and get a proof of address · Save the FMM you are issued at the border — the canje cannot be filed without it.
